Stadium Point Ltd will soon be submitting proposals
to Trafford Council for the change of use of an existing vacant industrial
unit off Trafford Wharf Road from storage and distribution to a music
events venue for up to 16,000 people.
Known previously as Stadium Point, the venue will
be called The Power Station.
It would attract entertainment artists for live performances for
audiences who wish to stand and dance during the shows.
Changes in the music industry mean that the live aspect is now more
vital than ever for artists, who respond to high demand from fans
to perform at concerts.
The Power Station project is a £5m investment which aims
to be one of the UK's premier venues, to rank alongside London's
02 Arena.
The Power Station would be close to a number of high-profile visitor
attractions.
The site is near to Manchester United FC and Lancashire County Cricket
Club, and to the Salford Quays attractions The Lowry, The Imperial
War Museum North and Media City.
